Christmas Tree Farm

Today we went down to Olympia to Hunter's Tree Farm, with my parents, to pick out our Christmas Tree. This was the place that my family went to every year, it was always so much fun.... they have a huge selection of trees, animals, hot chocolate, "sleigh rides," and even reindeer! So, it brought back lots of memories for me. Of course the first thing Blake sees (and just about the only thing he sees) is the TRACTOR! :o)
The only way we could get him off was to tell him we were going to go find another tractor. So we tricked him into going and looking at trees, thankfully we found one pretty quickly, so did my parents, and Blake had a great time helping both daddy & grandpa cart their trees to the truck!
What a good helper!

Then, he spotted another tractor.....

They had some goats and pigs that you could feed, Blake obviously thought it was pretty appalling that I was letting them eat out of my hand.

I think Blake had a great time!

S-L-A-C-K-E-R

I know I haven't posted for a LONG time... we're going on almost a month here! Most of my excuse is that we don't have the Internet at our house, and when I'm around a computer I seem to only have time to check email, etc. I know that's a totally LAME excuse, but it's the best I can do!

I can tell you that Blake's newest 'thing' is the Jungle Book.... oh my goodness, you wouldn't even believe how obsessed that child is with that movie. My mom bought it for him a while ago because he loved reading the book. Way to go grandma.... now he BEGS to watch it ALL the time, and cries when I say no (I do limit him to one viewing a day), but seriously what 18 month old kid wants to sit down and watch a movie!? I do have to say it is pretty cute to watch him watch it, he laughs and smiles and dances to all the songs, it makes him so happy! The elephants are his absolute favorite!

Before & After

Here are some before and after pictures of our house! We've concentrated most of our efforts on the upstairs, so the pictures are of the kitchen, dining room, living room, and Blake's room.... and hopefully coming soon the bathroom! We repainted the entire house (my dad pretty much did it ALL), re-carpeted the upstairs, tiled the kitchen & dining room, new cabnets/countertops/appliances, added lots more lighting, and did some re-wiring.........among other things!
SO, here you go......

do you smell that??

Don't worry, it's just Blake! For Halloween Blake was a skunk, the cutest skunk ever if I must say! This year we met Trevor and Kaitlyn at Kaitlyn's parents house and went to their wards "Trunk or Treat," they had lots of games and activities, all of which were a little old for Blake and Blaine, but they had fun running around anyways. Then on Halloween night we went up to Bellingham and did some trick or treating with the family!

Hugs

There was a little boy dressed up as Scooby Doo, Blake chased him all over the gym, trying to pet the dog!

3 + 1 = 4

Yep, it's true... we're going to have another baby!! We decided it would be fun to share the news on Halloween, since that's what we did with Blake 2 years ago.... maybe we'll make it a bi-annual event! (just kidding!) I'm due on April 10th.... which puts me right about 17 weeks along! We're finding out the gender on Wednesday, so I'll put up a survey and let everyone guess!

ps. we are FINALLY in our house, and I promise I'll put pictures up as soon as I can (we don't have Internet yet, but I'll do my best!)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Hubby Tag

I found this tag a little challenging... it's hard to think of just one answer, or the BEST answer for some of these questions, I'm afraid it won't do him justice! So let me make an all encompassing statement by saying that Jonathan is the best person I know, and he helps me to be a better person everyday, I love him more than words can say.

That being said...... (sorry for all of you who are gagging on my sappiness!) here I go:

Where we met: The good ol' Bellingham Institute

How long we dated before we got hitched: Two years..... on and off :o)

How long have we been married: 3 1/2 years

What's my fav feature about him: His eyes and his mischievous little smirk

What's my fav quality about him: His patience, and his ability to look at every situation objectively. He really thinks things through from every point of view before he forms an opinion, which helps me a lot, and also makes him a great teacher. (this one is really hard because there are so many other things I could've said, and want to say, but I'll just leave it at that)

What's his nickname for me: probably "hun" we both say it way too much!

His fav color: I'm not sure Jonathan has a favorite ANYTHING, he's way too layed back and "likes" everything.... so the next few questions will be hard! If I had to pick one color he might lean slightly towards it would be blue.

His fav food: Mexican (also my least fav!)

His fav sport: FOOTBALL, although he's coming around to liking Baseball, I'm slowly showing him the light!

Who said the L word first: I know he expressed those feelings first, but as for actually saying the word, I think I did.

First kiss, when and where: At his mom's house, he asked me when I was going to let him kiss me, and I said, "you've never asked" he just said, "oh" then we sat there for another couple hours before it actually happened.... he is such a smart alec! I think it was in the fall or early winter?!

Fav couple thing to do: Just being able to spend time together as a family, doing anything!

How many kids: just our little Blake!

His hidden talent: Shooting a gun, he would never say it, but he's a really good shot!

His age: 27

His fav music: Rock

What I admire most about him: Definitely his work ethic, I've never known anyone who works harder and always does everything 100%, and his loyalty and love for his family.

His fav pastime: Remodeling, anything construction or working with his hands

Will he read this: only if I tell him about it.... he's not much of a blog reader (Darin :o)

I tag: Liz, Mariah, Stacy

Vacation

I know it's been a LONG time since I've posted, we're still in the middle.... well, more towards the end of renovating our house, hopefully only a few more days! We also took a little road trip to visit some family in Idaho and Utah! My mom, Jonathan, Blake and I left at 8pm and drove all night to Preston, ID and got there around 10am, it was perfect for Blake, he slept the whole time, Jonathan and I split time driving, it actually wasn't too bad! We spent a few days in Idaho visiting with my grandparents, great-grandpa, and some of my mom's aunt's, uncle's and cousins. My mom's aunt and uncle own a dude ranch in Soda Springs, we spent a day there riding horses, tractors, and just enjoying the beautiful weather and fresh air! Jonathan, Blake and I took a "little" day trip to Vernal, UT to visit his sister's family (when I say little day trip I mean it took 5 hours to get there! But it was worth it, we had a lot of fun!). Next we drove to Salt Lake and spent a few days touring temple square, the amazing new conference center, and just walking around downtown. It was so nice to go on vacation and be able to spend some time together as a family!
Blake did surprisingly well the whole time in the car, he slept a lot and my mom sat in the back and played with him!
Jonathan LOVES it when I take his picture!
This is my great-grandpa (he's almost 94!), the things on the table are pens that he made using different types of wood.

My grandparents have a huge backyard and Blake loved running around and playing outside. The weather was beautiful the whole time so we spent a lot of time out there.

Just a picture of us after we got home from church.

This is us and my grandparents outside of there house right before we left.

We were playing in the grass at the ranch! It is so amazing how quiet and peaceful it is out there, you don't really realize it when you're living in the city, but once you get out in the "middle of nowhere" the quietness is so nice!

They had a cute little see-saw that Blake loved

I think this is Blake's idea of heaven!

He actually got to go for a ride on it too.... kind of puts grandpa's little tractor to shame! :o)

We all rode horses.... even Jonathan

Blake wasn't so sure about the horse.... I don't think my mom was either!

I think the last time I was on a horse I was 12
