Good News & Bad News

Well, the good news is that we're buying a HOUSE! It's only about 5-10 min from where we used to live in Federal Way. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 2 car garage. It's on the corner of a cul-de-sac, and has a nice fenced yard. It's in great condition, a little out dated so Jonathan is especially excited to start some projects!

So, the bad news is that we have to leave Bellingham. We've had so much fun being here this summer. We were so lucky to be able to spend the last 3 months here, being able to hang out with friends and family has been wonderful! We will really miss everyone! I'm glad Blake has had the chance to get to know is cousins a little better, I think he's really going to miss being with them all the time.

We're also going to miss the amazing view from our deck
...and the POOL!!

I think EVERYBODY will miss the pool!

Helping in the yard

The other day Jonathan was doing a little yard work at the condo, mowing and watering the lawn and sweeping. So Blake and I went out to watch, because he LOVES being outside, and I found a little rake..... looks like Blake is a natural!

Just cooling off in the sprinkler after a hard days work!

Playing with pictures

My mom has a simple little program on her computer where you can edit and change the effects on pictures, it's pretty limited but I still thought these turned out cute. The original is in the bottom right corner and the one on the top left is supposed to be b&w, except for Blake......

Bowling for cousins

This last week Jonathan's sisters & their families came to visit from Utah & New Mexico, which meant all 18 cousins were together! We've had a lot of fun spending time with them. Blake especially has had a lot of fun playing with them (after the initial shock of so much attention of course). One evening we were all hanging out at Wynden & Jayme's house, just playing in the yard. They have one toy that Blake LOVES to play in, he sits in it and the kids push him around, he would stay on it all day if we let him. So, DJ was pushing him around and I'm not sure how it happened.....

...but the kids stared lining up

and DJ would push Blake towards them

and right before he ran into them they would jump (or fall) out of the way.

Blake thought it was the most hilarious thing ever!

(I hope the video works, it's not very good quality because I took it with my camera)

Swimming with "bumpa"

Jonathan and I bought Blake a little pool for him to play in while at Grandma & Grandpa's house, equipped with slide and all! So we got it all ready, and being the expert first time parents that we are, filled it up with hose water. Needless to say he HATED it, because it was freezing cold. But we weren't going to give up on our investment so soon.... so we refilled the pool with warm water (what a spoiled kid!) and he still didn't want to get in. So my dad ("bumpa") decided to get in with him to show him it was ok, fully clothed I might add.

But he still wasn't too sure about it.

We pretty much tried everything.... and he just wasn't having it.

So after several failed attempts, we finally got him out.

Sorry Dad!!
The funny part was that as soon as my dad was dried off and changed Blake decided that the pool looked like fun after all.... he played in it all afternoon!

Blake is ONE!

Blake turned one on June 18th, I cannot believe how time has flown by! We had two parties for him, one with my family and friends in Olympia, and another in Bellingham with Jonathan's family and more friends! We had a lot of fun watching Blake play with his new toys and shove cake in is face (and his hair and ears and everywhere else!). We are so blessed to have such wonderful families and friends!

Blake ate all the "frosting carrots" off the carrot cake!

One of Blake's favorite toys (and one of the noisiest!)

Ready or not, here we come.....

So, I've really been putting off starting a blog because I wasn't sure I could commit to such a thing..... but after much encouragement (Kaitlyn), I have decided to join the blogging world! However, I'm not making any promises, I've always been a terrible journal keeper, but I know how important it is and I think this will make it lot more fun. We permanently reside in Seattle, but for the last couple months we've had the opportunity, through Jonathan's work, to live in Bellingham. We have had so much fun being back here, and are going to be so sad to leave. We love spending time with our family, and love watching Blake interact with is cousins, he LOVES them! We have been lucky to be renting a beautiful condo out at Sandy Point during our time here. It is right on the water and has an amazing view. The whole family (plus some) came out for the 4th of July to watch the fireworks..... they were incredible, it was better than any fireworks show I have ever seen in my life!
