cheap labor

we decided to take advantage of the nice weather this week and give my car a BADLY needed wash! seriously, i don't think it's been washed since before winter, disgusting, i know! blake and i got soaked and had lots of fun, he is such a good helper! (i'd be willing to rent him out, if the price is right! :o)

nap time

this was the scene just moments ago....

I went into the other room for just a few minutes while Blake was eating his lunch, when all of the sudden I heard snoring! I walked in the kitchen and the poor kid had fallen asleep with food still in his mouth! Luckily I was able to get him out of his seat, cleaned up, and in bed without waking him up.

Adam is sleeping too... maybe I should be taking this opportunity to nap as well... instead of blogging! :o)

i know it's spring but....

.... it's Christmas everyday at our house! Blake's newest movie obsession is Frosty the Snowman. Can I just tell you how hard it is to get that theme song out of your head! I find myself singing it all day long, probably because Blake does too, but he only knows the first verse... so it is ALWAYS in my head. Of course this current obsession replaced another Christmas classic, Rudolph, yeah... try getting those songs out of your head! Anyways, it's pretty cute how much he loves Frosty, and to hear him sing is adorable, plus it's only a 20 min movie, so I don't feel so bad about letting him watch it everyday (sometimes twice!), at least it gives me a few minutes to get things done!

....one week later

we can hardly believe it's already been a week since Adam joined our family, here's what has been going on at our house:

Blake can't get enough of his new brother, he's already trying to teach him to give "hi-fives"

you can often find Blake kissing or hugging Adam, when he's not riding his new tricycle that auntie Marilyn gave him.... thanks auntie!

my parents have been up to visit a few times, they'd be here everyday if they could!

my sister and grandma beth have also been up to visit

Adam got to meet a few of his cousins....Lexi, Hunter, Karlee and Hallie. Blake had a ton of fun playing with them, thanks so much for coming!

It's been a great week, we've had so much fun spending time together as a family, having Jonathan home is so nice, if only we could be independently wealthy and he could stay home all the time! :o) Adam is such a good baby, he sleeps really well (i have to brag a little... the last 2 nights he only woke up once in the middle of the night to eat! i'm sure that won't last, but it was sure nice!), he doesn't really cry much, he just has a really calm demeanor. I definetly feel a lot more confident with this baby, like I know what I'm doing a little bit more, so the adjustment thus far has been a lot easier, of course we'll see what happens when Jonathan has to go back to work!:o)

I just have to add that today was my actual due date.... thank goodness I got to spend this week cuddling my little boy rather than being kicked in the ribs by him!

he's here

*ADAM WINTER HOLMAN*

was born April 3, 2009 at 5:01pm
he weighed 7lbs 7oz and is 20in long

To try and make a long story short, I was induced around 9am on Friday morning with a pill (i can't remember what it's called), and with pretty much ZERO change until 2:00pm the doctor finally came in and broke my water. That's when things started to progress pretty rapidly, contractions came hard and close together, ALMOST not enough time for an epidural, but I did get one, thank goodness! Within less than an hour of the epidural I went from a 7 to 10 in a matter of minutes. I pushed 3 times and he was here! Besides the hours of sitting around waiting for things to get going, I have to say everything went really well! The epidural was perfect, I could still move my legs, and could feel when I needed to push, but no unbearable pain. I had an amazing doctor and nurses... and of course, Jonathan was great!

this was before all the "fun"started, we played games & watched tv for what seemed like an eternity!

adam, just minutes after he was born

my boys

Adam has been such a good boy so far. He isn't much of a crier, even when he first came out he didn't cry for long. He's been a very good sleeper and a good nurser. We think that he looks a lot like Blake when he was born, although he has much less hair! Blake LOVES his new baby brother, he walks around saying "baby adam" all day long, it's very cute. He loves giving him hugs and kisses.... a little too much sometimes, but it's ok! :o)

We are all doing great, and are so excited to finally have Adam in our family, we already love him so much and can't wait to watch him grow!

*lots more pictures to come!

light at the end of the tunnel....

....literally I suppose. Anyways, I am being induced on FRIDAY!!! WOO HOO!! I know it's still a week from my due date, but if it were up to me I would've had this kid 3 weeks ago! I've been especially impatient this week, probably because at my last appointment I was dialated to a 3 and have been having contractions all week (with nothing to show for it!). So since my doctor is such a nice guy (and probably prefers scheduling his births so he doesn't get woken up in the middle of the night) he scheduled me as soon as he could! Wish me luck!

(pictures to follow soon, of course!)
