observations

just some things i'm learning....

  • people here are in a hurry (walking and driving)
  • pedestrians do NOT have the right of way... drivers will let you know in case you forget
  • stairs are narrow, steep, and half the size around a corner (and easy to fall down)
  • light switches to the bathroom are outside of the door
  • down is on, up is off on light switches
  • not only do they drive on the left, they also walk on the left
  • groceries are purchased daily... too much to carry at one time
  • as far as what to wear... anything goes. seriously anything.
  • EVERYONE wears a scarf, men too (even straight ones)
  • even if it's a cloudless sunny sky, bring an umbrella (speaking from experience)
i'm sure there will be more!

I love learning about others' ways of doing things. It makes me wonder what people notice about the U.S. when they first come here. But the big question is, has Jonathan started wearing a scarf? :)
